Getting started with the collection:
Bowl
Frans Zwollo (1872-1945), copper, c. 1925
After a period of intensive collaboration with Lauweriks in the German town of Hagen, Zwollo renewed his conception of art. In this bowl, all attention is focused on the properties of the copper and the virtuoso embossing technique with which it is worked. The metal could almost be liquid; a jellyfish seems to emerge in the middle and the rippling of the water continues to the edge.
