From hidden love to open celebration of diversity, Sodom and Gomorrah to the pink triangle – how did homosexuality develop in society and how is it reflected in art?

With its annual Amsterdam Pride festival, the Netherlands is perhaps one of the most liberal countries in the world. However, that this was not the case in the past will hardly surprise anyone. The Rijksmuseum's collection offers a starting point to chart the changing views on homosexuality in the Netherlands over the years.
