About the exhibition

  • Never before have so many works been brought together. At least 27 of the 37 paintings attributed to Vermeer are currently coming together!

    The Girl with the Pearl Earring is on display in the exhibition until 30 March.

  • Alongside the exhibition at the museum, we are launching an innovative online experience. In it, art lovers around the world can enjoy Johannes Vermeer's work at any time.

  • We are developing a separate tuor through the exhibition for children. So, of course, children are also welcome.

  • We do not offer guided tours of the exhibition. Also, you are not allowed to visit the exhibition with your own (external) tour guide.

  • No, there is no audio tour accompanying the exhibition. However, there is an online exhibition/experience with additional explanations of all the works.

  • There will be several books including a richly illustrated catalogue with detailed images of all Vermeers in several languages and a children's book.

Tickets

  • The Vermeer exhibition is definitively sold out. It is not possible to buy tickets via e-mail or by phone.

  • From April, the exhibition is open on:

    • Monday to Sunday 9am - 11pm*

    *With the exception of events

  • Your ticket is only valid from the start time of your Vermeer exhibition tickets. You are welcome to visit the other galleries at the Rijksmuseum after visiting the Vermeer exhibition. The museum closes at 5 pm.

  • You can only visit the other galleries in the Rijksmuseum after visiting the Vermeer exhibition. The rooms are open until 5 pm.

  • Due to high interest in the Vermeer exhibition, the processing of a booking is taking longer than usual. We will make sure everyone receives confirmation as soon as possible.

For your visit

  • Yes, everyone needs a start time. Only Friends of the Rijksmuseum don't. As a Friend, you always have free, unlimited access and can come whenever you want without a start time.

  • In the Philips Wing (at the Rijksmuseum)

  • Upon arrival you will see a separate entrance for the exhibition in the passageway underneath the museum.

  • For as long as you like until closing time.

    As a Friend of the Rijksmuseum you will always have free access and you don't have to book a start time.

  • The booked time slot is the start time for the Vermeer exhibition. The permanent collection can be visited after.

  • You may take photos in the Rijksmuseum. But please do so without flash. Please mind other visitors.

  • Interest will be high. We are offering a limited number of tickets as we want to ensure the quality of everyone's visit. We recommend booking early.

  • Families dispersing through the exhibition are welcome. Guided visits are not allowed.

  • The capacity of the exhibition galleries is limited. To give all visitors the best possible experience, school classes are not allowed.

  • No, it is not possible to reschedule your ticket.
