In the Slavery exhibition, you became acquainted with ten individuals who were part of the slavery system. People who profited from it, suffered from it or resisted it. Who made the greatest impression on you? How would you like to tell their story?

JOIN DAVID AND TIRZO

Artists David Bade (Curaçao, 1970) and Tirzo Martha (Curaçao, 1965) and their team will be happy to help you visualize what you experienced in the exhibition in the project Look at me now. Every day they will work on ten sculptures that relate to the ten individuals in the exhibition. Anyone who is interested in helping, both in the museum itself and at home, can do so by submitting thoughts or handmade objects. In this way, the sculptures continue growing every day.

HOW IT WORKS

You can view the 10 sculptures as they appear in the exhibition via the link below. You can see what they looked like when the show opened and how they continue to evolve. Every week someone from the Look at me now team will provide an update on how the sculptures are developing. This is followed by an assignment on how you can participate. You can send us a concept or a physical contribution, which the team will incorporate into the relevant sculpture.

Would you like to send a contribution or a thought for one of the sculptures independently of a assignment? Please send your contribution to us at lamn@rijksmuseum.nl.
