Visiting safely
A warm welcome as always! The whole museum is open for you, but with a few new rules. For example, it is necessary to reserve a start time in advance. Both for temporary exhibitions and for the permanent collection with the world-famous works by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh.
The whole museum is open
All areas of the museum are open including the shop, cloakroom, toilets and lockers. We also welcome you with open arms in the Café and RIJKS restaurant for a coffee, Dutch treats or a Michelin star dinner.
How does it work?
The following conditions apply:
- If you’ve got symptoms, stay at home – even if you’ve been vaccinated
- Book your visit in advance
- Give each other space
You will need a reservation
All visitors are required to book a start time:
- This applies to everyone, also with a Museum Card.
- The start time indicates the start of your visit.
- Once inside you can stay as long as you want during opening hours.
Only Friends of the musuem don`t have to book a start time and can visit when they want.
We organize tours and activities
Guided tours or group activities are taking place in the museum at this time. If you are coming with children you can book the Family Game, or else pick up a family guide from the information desk so you can discover the museum together.
Multimedia tour
The multimedia tour devices are available as usual; we will disinfect them prior to each use. Please book your multimedia tour along with your ticket and pick it up from the multimedia tour desk. The multimedia tour devices provide background information about the main routes and many of the artworks. The Rijksmuseum App offers identical information; just make sure you’ve got the latest version, and bring along your own headphones/earphones!
