Entrances, stairs and lifts

There are two entrances to the Rijksmuseum. Both are in the arcade that runs under the building, which is known as The Passage. This is a public road open to cyclists and pedestrians but not to cars. When you enter The Passage from the Museumplein side, you will find the entrances on your left. One has stairs and one has a lift. If you have a wheelchair, rollator, walking stick or pram, security staff will direct you to the lifts.

The staircase has twenty steps, with a landing after the thirteenth step. Both the stairs and the lift take you to the Atrium.

The Atrium is open daily from 09:00h until 18:00h. Here you will find the ticket offices, information desk, cloakroom, museum shop, public toilets and The Café.
