Your support contributes to the 4 pillars of the Rijksmuseum: education, collection, exhibitions, and research & conservation.

EDUCATION AND ACCESSIBILITY

We have a broad range of educational programmes and organise special tours for people with a disability. The Rijksmuseum is accessible to all people at all times, for instance through Rijksmu-seum at home. In addition, researchers of all nationalities can apply to the Rijksmuseum Fellowship Programme. Together with universities we support the next generation of museum professionals.

COLLECTION

The Rijksmuseum manages a collection of masterpieces from the Netherlands and around the world and wants to share it with a wide (inter)national audience. The collection offers a representative overview of Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages onward, as well as of major aspects of European and Asian art. Gifts and donations from private individuals are vital to support new acquisitions.

EXHIBITIONS

Many exhibitions in the Philips wing and in the Rijksmuseum gardens are made possible by gifts and donations from our benefactors. The aim is to constantly offer an international perspective on Dutch art and history and draw attention to themes relevant to society today. We depend heavily on your contribution not only to organise these exhibitions, but also to provide educational materials, themed programmes and publications to make the exhibitions more accessible.

RESEARCH, CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION

The Rijksmuseum is renowned as a leading international knowledge institute. The Atelier building is the centre for conservation, academic study, research and education. Thanks to your support this is the place where conservation experts and technical analysts work together to conserve and manage our cultural heritage.

Operation Night Watch is currently the largest and most advanced research, conservation and restoration project.
