Abstract
An important eighteenth-century work written by the chemist D'Arclais de Montamy, a close friend of Diderot, who was responsable for bringing out the book after his death. The first section describes how to paint in enamel; the second part deals with painting on porcelain as well as supplying notes on engraved gems and cameos, restoring paintings, gilding, glazing, varnishing, etc. (Ursus Rare Books, catalogue 313)
