The annual

Abstract

"In our 40th anniversary year, we are taking a fresh approach to how we share art, ideas and stories with our members. Our new publication, The Annual, reflects upon the National Gallery's past, present and future. Through essays, interviews and questionnaires with and by artists, art historians, curators and novelists, The Annual explores the riches of our national collection and the National Gallery's contribution to our community. It expands on our foundational values and engages with artmaking and museum practices around the world. With its diverse and timely conversations, The Annual celebrates the National Gallery's spirit of openness, innovation and respect."-- Nick Mitzevich, director, page 7, 2022 issue.
