Nalini Malani: my reality is different
By
Abstract
"This publication will celebrate the work of Nalini Malani (b. 1946), recipient of the 2022 National Gallery Contemporary Fellowship with ArtFund, and her commission for the National Gallery, London, and the Holburne Museum, Bath. One of the most important painters and filmmakers of the global South, Malani's work has influenced a generation of artists from the 1960s to the present day. The National Gallery Contemporary Fellowship with ArtFund is the artist's first museum commission and the first large-scale exhibition of her work in the United Kingdom. With new research, sumptuous illustrations and playful book design, this publication will present the artist's work to a new, general audience."
