Abstract

This anthology covers the origins of the Jesuits, Dutch, Portuguese, and later Americans in Japan and their sexual relations with Japanese women. It begins with a set of illustrations showing the first foreigners to arrive in Japan. The Dutch at Nagasaki, their prostitutes, foreign influence on Japan and Japanese art. The co-mingling of Japanese with the Dutch and Chinese in Nagasaki.
