This publication showcases the Royal Library's world-class collection of paintings and manuscripts from the Indian subcontinent. These elegant masterpieces comprise a variety of subject matter, from dazzling Mughal durbars to sensuous poetic scenes. Combined with engaging new scholarship tracing the 400-year history of gift-giving between Britain and India's royal courts, this will be the first time many of these works have been published. -- Exhibition: Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, London, United Kingdom (June 2018).
