City of the future: Zuidoost 2040

Abstract

"Amsterdam Zuidoost will be fundamentally transformed. During the renovation, lasting until 2040, forty thousand homes will be added, the number of employment opportunities will be increased and the public space will be reconstructed in many places. In Zuidoost, honeycomb apartment buildings, elevated thoroughfares, extensive green spaces and a sand castle will soon share the area with Het Brasapark, residential towers, wooden buildings and a centre where there's something to do at any time of the day. Zuidoost will once again become what it was fifty years ago: the city of the future. [The author] brings the future of Zuidoost to life.
