Abstract

"J. Carbutt, Philadelphia, produced these prints for this catalogue of newspaper and binders machines, many of which duplicate the 1874 catalogue ... This example is the only one known to have been done by Carbutt in the heliograph process, and is therefore extremely rare and important in American photomechanical history.
