Abstract

The 20th century was the century of mobility and speed, of technological developments, world wars, the conquest of the skies and of space, of consumption and also of significant literary achievements. Why not take a fascinating journey through the diverse cultural history of Germany in the 20th century? 100 objects - one to represent each year - focus on events that are as relevant today as they were back then, and still make us stop and think today: pioneering inventions, the finest hours of German film, sport successes, scandals, achievements, bizarre events and scandals. Exhibition: Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte, Oldenburg, 5 July - 4 October 2009.
