Wallet from the Estate of Isabel Wachenheimer

Isabel Wachenheimer carried this wallet in her handbag until her death in 2010. In it were photographs and other documents, mementos of Isabel’s parents who had been executed in Auschwitz in 1944. At home in Leiden, Isabel privately treasured many more souvenirs of her parents. On view here are twenty-six documents redolent of loss that remained in Isabel’s possession until 2010.
