Small round landscapes were in great demand among people who bought art. Van Goyen produced scores of them over the years. This little painting not only depicts a village by the water, but also symbolizes summer. It accompanies a painting of winter, which is also on view in this gallery.

    Ronde voorstelling met een landschap in de zomer. Links een boerenwoning bij een oude boom, op de voorgrond een ruiter in gesprek met drie personen. Op de achtergrond meer woningen, een molen en de kerktoren van een dorp. Pendant van de SK-A-3946 'Winter'.
