Simplex Bicycle Factory Amsterdam

In a flat polder landscape, so suitable for cycling, a cross-section of the Dutch population rides by on a bicycle, from constable to farmer and postman. An upper middle class lady, profession unknown, is also cycling along. The bicycle became established in the Netherlands from around 1900 among broad sections of the population.
