Explanatory note

  • Prent gebruikt in: Ténint, Wilhelm. Album du Salon de 1842. Collection des principaux ouvrages exposés au Louvre (…). Parijs: Augustin Challamel, 1842. In 1207 werd Raymond VI van Toulouse door de Paus geëxcommuniceerd omdat hij de Katharen in bescherming nam. Op 18 juni 1209 werd deze excommunicatie opgeheven, nadat Raymond in het openbaar boete had gedaan in de kerk van Saint-Gilles-du-Gard.
