Explanatory note

  • Maakt deel uit van een serie van 271 platen, inclusief twee titelprenten, naar schilderijen door Watteau en verzameld door Jean de Jullienne. Sommige platen werden reeds tijdens Watteau's leven vervaardigd en de rest kwam pas na zijn dood tot stand. In 1734 werd het eind van de serie aangekondigd.
