Goblet

Frans Zwollo (1872-1945), copper, 1902

The Amsterdam glass painter Jacques Willem Le Nobel ordered this goblet for his seven-year-old son Jan. The child had taken his first steps in the Theosophical Movement in 1902, in which both his father and Zwollo were involved. Zwollo described the goblet as a ‘receiving vessel of Divine Wisdom and Love.’ The movement’s symbol is engraved on the bottom.
