Explanatory note

  • Deze prent behoort tot de serie 'Voyages pittoresques et romantiques dans l'ancienne France'. De serie is uitgevoerd onder leiding van Isidore Justin Séverin baron Taylor en bevat begeleidende teksten van Charles Nodier en Alphonse de Cailleux. Voor het project zijn vele kunstenaars naar delen van Frankrijk afgereisd. De reeks is tussen 1821 en 1878 in ca. 21 delen gepubliceerd.
