Explanatory note

  • Voostelling zou "het relatieve van alle zaken" verbeelden. Alles verschilt naar de hoek waaronder men het beziet. Dit principe is weergegeven door de wajang pop die wordt belicht door twee olielampen en die verschillende slagschaduwen werpt. Het ontwerp werd door Verhagen ingestuurd voor de 9th Annual Exhibition of the Bookplate Association Internationa, mei 1933, Los Angeles.
