Evening cape with star-shaped appliqués

anonymous, c. 1920 - c. 1929

Capes were rarely worn during the day in the 1920s. Yet a stylish dress cape was still the fashionable choice for a festive occasion. The hem of this bright pink velvet cape is decorated with square blocks of fabric sewn in the shape of four-pointed stars.
