Commemorative Album of the KLM’s East Indies Route

This album was compiled on the occasion of the thousandth flight of the KLM’s East Indies route after World War II. Featured in the photograph is the famous ‘Uiver,’ the KLM aeroplane that won the handicap section in the 1934 London-Melbourne air race. With its aluminum construction, this Douglas DC-2 belonged to the latest generation of aircraft of its day.
