18 plates, each decorated with a Netherlandish province

These plates reflect the period when the Netherlands and Belgium together formed the United Kingdom of the Netherlands (1815-1830). The kingdom consisted of 17 provinces plus the grand duchy of Luxembourg. The gold decoration is in the Neoclassical style. On the upper edge are the arms of each province in gold on the blue border; the arms of the United Kingdom are on the lower side. Today the Netherlands consists of 12 provinces.

    Serie van 18 borden van porselein, beschilderd op het glazuur in emailkleuren en goud. Elk bord toont een topografische weergave van een van de provincies in de toenmalige Nederlanden. De binnenwand is bedekt met blauw met daarop in goud tweemaal een kelk met aan weerszijden een vogelkop en bloemranken. Een derde bloemrank heeft, in plaats van een kelk, het wapen van de provincie en de vierde toont het wapen van Nederland. Gemerkt op de onderzijde met het monogram R.D. en het jaartal 1822.
