"Bruno Vekemans (1952-2019) was a passionate and versatile artist. Already as a teenager he had a sketchbook in his pocket. He started making collages in his twenties and never stop- ped doing so. Bruno had a thing about paper. His cut and paste work is unique. During Bruno’s memorial moment in our gallery, some collages were shown. Together with Marita, Bruno’s widow, and collector Geert Verbeke, the idea came up to organize an exhibition with Bruno Vekemans’ hidden collages, accompanied by the publication of a catalogue.
