‘Artist Pointing at a Seated Model’

This scene unfolds in the house of Andriessen’s father, Jurriaan, where drawing sessions with female nude models were regularly held. Hopefully what is written in the naughty caption below the scene was not read out loud. That would have only made the model most uncomfortable. From Andriessen’s illustrated diary it emerges that he delighted in rendering striking poses.
