Love

circle of Hubert Gerhard, Heinrich Gerhard (possibly), c. 1600 - c. 1610

The reclining woman represents Love. She is accompanied by two children and holds a flaming heart in her right hand. Together with her pendant, Faith, and a missing statue of Hope, Love probably graced a tabernacle (a receptacle or cabinet containing the Host) in a church.
